ROB STEO, PILOT LEFT WING
Rob Steo was born in New York City, and inherited his father's love for aviation. He memorized all of the World War II fighter aircraft by the time he was 10 years old!
After college graduation, Rob immediately joined the U.S. Air Force and earned his wings in 1982. For the next 8 years, Rob flew all over the world while stationed in several domestic air bases as well as serving a tour of duty in the Middle East.
After separating from the military, Rob was immediately hired by a major U.S. airline, where he serves today as a captain.
In 2002, the lead pilot of the Skytypers approached Rob. He was offered the opportunity to lend his skills to the GEICO Skytypers team and currently flies as the left wing pilot. His additional duties include overseeing video operations during airshow appearances, updating the team on local hazards and navigation anomalies and managing travel logistics.
